I believe that all sentient beings deserve our love and compassion. For me one of the easiest ways of embodying it is being vegan.
In fact this realization awakened my consciousness at the age of 3. I remember having dinner with my parents, and asking them where the meat on my plate came from. When I understood it was a dead animal’s body I felt utter shock, horror and disgust. However, since it happened in the early 70s no one took my objections seriously, and although I didn’t enjoy it I put up with consuming meat. This hidden trauma resurfaced in 1993, when I was pregnant with my first child. I remembered how much it upset me, and I wanted to spare my daughter this pain. I have decided to raise her vegetarian, and obviously became vegetarian myself. Later I studied both animal rights and plant based nutrition, and became vegan in 2005. My twin sons born in 2007 have been vegan since conception. Between 2018 and 2020 I worked as a vegan wellness coach for families, wrote a self help book for vegan parents, and posted easy vegan recipes.
We all know that limiting our food consumption or even periodical fasting is beneficial. That being said, giving up food altogether is still not an option. Therefore we need to decide what we are going to eat. Although I understand that being vegan may not be an easy thing or an obvious choice for many, I believe it is the choice most aligned with the high vibrational New Earth’s energies.
I have been addressing 3D concerns about veganism (health related, environmental;, psychological, ethical etc) for years – you can read about it in my book.
However, I believe there is still not enough awareness about spiritual aspects of veganism, therefore I will address them below.
I believe that animals have souls, they reincarnate and they grow spiritually. They also have their soul contracts and missions. Their spiritual paths intertwine with ours. For example – whenever we find or rescue an animal – they also find and rescue us helping our soul grow.
Many people argue that plants are also sentient and there is no difference between consuming animals and plants. I agree with the former but not with the latter. First of all, animals eat plants or other animals who eat plants, therefore not killing plants is not an option. On the contrary – if we want to minimize the killing of plants, we should consume the organisms which are at the bottom of the food chain – that is plants. But more importantly – animals and plants have very different soul contracts with humanity. Animals never wanted to be tortured and killed for our food or entertainment. Factory farming, sport hunting and fishing, corrida, circus animals, fur farms etc are abuse and distortion of the initial soul contracts between humankind and the animal kingdom. These activities not only afflict unnecessary pain and suffering on animals – they also degrade all participants – including humans. Although the plants consented to be harvested and eaten by both – humans and animals; since they are sentient – we should honor them and be thankful whenever we consume them.
I am not going to dwell on the barbarity and cruelty of factory farming. Let me just say that no animal wants to be mistreated or killed, and their feelings of terror and suffering are embedded into their cellular memory. Whenever we consume their dead bodies or their excretions, it affects us not only on the physical level but also on the spiritual level – lowering our vibration and impeding our spiritual growth.
